Julia Frances Hinshaw, age 93, of Randleman died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born November 8, 1923 the daughter of Thomas Leck and Lena Kate Brown Helms.
Frances was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Randleman High School, Salutatorian of the Class of 1940. She was a charter member of First United Methodist Church, Randleman, were she was a choir member and Sunday school teacher. Frances owned and operated a clothing store downtown Randleman for 44 years Lad & Lassie children's and ladies wear. In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband Maxwell N. Hinshaw, grandson, Eric Hinshaw, daughter-in-law, Sue Hinshaw, sisters, Dixie Reynolds and Louise Lackey and step father, Rev. G. Scott Turner.
She is survived by her sons: Max Hinshaw, Jr. of Mooresville, Mike Hinshaw (Jean) of Mocksville, and Chris Hinshaw (Karen) of Sophia; grandchildren: Jeff Hinshaw (Karen) of Greensboro, Amanda Sweatt (Charles) of Sophia, Kristin Thornton (Nick) of Knoxville, TN; Julia Dobias (Ryan) of Sophia, Kevin Hinshaw (Lindsay) of Clemmons, and Chris Hinshaw, Jr. (Mandy) of Sophia; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:45 PM at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jenna Grogan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
