William Clarkson (Bill) Hooker, 80, of Asheboro passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Winston-Salem.
He was born July 26, 1936 in Asheboro, the son of Tyson and Mary Britt Hooker. Bill was retired from Rampon and enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Tyson (Ty) Hooker and his sister Sybil Brown.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Cromer and husband Chris of Asheboro; step son, Randy Hill and wife Tammy of Randleman; granddaughters, Teisha Hooker, Kristen Lopez, Lauren Hooker, and Tanya Kaufman; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, John Hooker and wife Kelly of Ramseur and Dwight Hooker and wife Maggie of Asheboro; and brother-in-law, Odell Brown of Eagle Springs.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral service will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Roger Price will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
