James Carlton "J.C." Routh passed away peacefully at Randolph hospice House on May 11, 2017.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Routh attended Asheboro City Schools. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army. Mr. Routh was an independent brick distributor for Hanford Brick for 47 years, retiring at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest E. and Annie E. Lineberry Routh, two sisters, one brother, and his wife of 49 years, Josie Lynn Johnson Routh with whom he operated Jay-Lynn Antiques for 30 years.
He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Sandra Johnson Allen and husband Charles L. Allen of Randleman, and several other nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Mary Hancock Routh of Franklinville.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Charles L. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
