W.C. (Warren C.) Linthicum, Jr., age 68, of Randleman died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Born March 6, 1949, W.C. was a native of Randolph County and graduate of Randleman High School in 1967. He attended Randolph Tech studying automotive body repair and attended Greensboro Bible Inst., receiving a Diploma in Bible in 1991 where he was Salutatorian and earned a degree in Theology in 1992. W.C. preached on the radio from 1976 - 2014 on the Old Rugged Cross Hour. He was a member of Amity Hills Baptist Church for 40 years and was a S.S. Superintendent, VBS director and S.S. teacher in the Intermediate Boys Class and a member of the choir until his health failed. He was employed at Thompson Arthur Paving Company for over 39 years.
W.C. was preceded in death by his parents: Mr.& Mrs. Warren Linthicum, Sr.; grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Homer Trogdon, Sr., Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Ross Linthicum, Sr.; father-in-law: Bowden Robbins and brother-in-law: Larry Robbins.
He is survived by his wife of over 47 years: Janice Robbins Linthicum, his children: Sharon (Jesse) Sharpe of Asheboro, Lisa (Michael) Stanley of Thomasville, Christian (Frank) Clark and Jonathan (Felicia) Linthicum all of Randleman; grandchildren: Curtis (Stacie) Stanley; Steven (Nikki) Stanley, Joseph Stanley, Abbie Sharpe, Lillee Sharpe and Alex Clark; great grandchild: Zoey Stanley; brother: Steve Linthicum of Randleman and mother-in-law: Annie Mae Robbins of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Trevor Foster and Rev. Scott Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
